About Me

I haven't exactly figured out how this page should be organized yet so it's currently just a collection of odds and ends.  The picture to the left is yours truly.  I launched the web site in September of 2002.  I grew up around dolls since my grandmother was a collector for over 50 years.  I was born and raised in Kansas.  I moved to Los Angeles in 1984 and lived there until May of 2002, when I retired from my real job and moved to Florence Alabama.  My house sits on the Tennessee river and after so many years in the city I find this a very peaceful and relaxing existence.

Grandma's Dolls Link

I am still selling some of the dolls on eBay.  The rest were either sold at auction in Kansas or have taken up permanent residence in my home.  At one time she had over 1000 dolls.

This is my first birthday and that's my grandmother (the doll collector) handing me the doll.

This is a few years later taking a couple of dolls for a ride.

These lovely dolls are the work of my friend Ronda LeBlanc and available at the Rosetta Stone Gallery of Florence.

Ronda molds the dolls and costumes each one individually.

My Favorite Items on My Little Dream!

I couldn't do this every day without falling in love with a few of the items I sell!

This is my new baby.  Her name is Ginger and I'm crazy about her.  She is a rescue from a puppy mill and that's why her lovely coat had to be shaved.  She is a tiny 7 lb 4 year old Pomeranian, but her previous owners didn't ever brush or groom her among other things so she was badly matted.  I have actually wanted to adopt a little dog for some time, but didn't know how to go about it.  I assumed that the rescue dogs would all be large like labs and pit bulls, but I knew if I bought a dog from a pet store or breeder I would likely be supporting puppy mills and I didn't want to do that.  I actually learned by watching an Oprah show that lots of purebred dogs including small sizes end up in the rescue system.  It only took a week for me to find exactly what I wanted looking on www.petfinder.com and www.1-800-Save-A-Pet.com.

I drove an hour to Corinth MS to pick her up.  She was terrified at first.  Poor baby had never seen stairs or reflections, and she obviously hadn't been picked up much.  Her little legs went every which way when I picked her up and she totally panicked until I had her cradled against my body.  She has made remarkable progress in just a little over a week.  She is now outgoing and a total flirt when I introduce her to friends.  She comes when I call, sits on command and even jumps in her little bed when I tell her.  We have conquered stairs, but reflections still freak her out.  I can already tell that she is starting to feel that she is safe, protected, nurtured, loved and cared for so I feel strongly that any remnants of her previous life will disappear in short order.   She is the little light of my life.  I'm now searching for a little Yorkie to be her baby sister.
Wish me luck.

My View

I can see the river from the window in front of my desk.   What a way to work!

I choose to move to Florence Alabama without ever having visited the town just because of the information I found on the internet.  Florence is part of a quad cities area known as "The Shoals".  The other 3 cities are Sheffield, Tuscumbia and Muscle Shoals.  Here's a link to some information about my community:
