Description:    This is a marvelous little French dresser or sewing box.  I've studied it because I wasn't sure if it was handmade or factory.  I think that the box probably originally held something else and that it was embellished by a creative lady of the house.  There are antique silk ribbons under the glass and antique trims and lace all over the outside.  The inside is covered by something like wrapping paper with French writing all over it.  The box itself is a very thick sturdy cardboard.  I didn't figure out until after I had taken the pictures that when the box is turned on end the black area on the top is the silhouette of a woman.  You can see her head at the right and she is wearing a long skirt.   I would guess this was probably made around the turn of the century.

Measurements:    3.25" long, 2.5" wide, and 1.5" high
